Grief Support Groups
The Grief Support Group offers the opportunity for participants to discuss or listen about adjusting to life without their loved one. The ongoing group sessions are free of charge and are facilitated by a collaborative group of grief professionals. The group offers sessions the second and fourth Mondays of the month from 6:30 to 8 PM, in St. Claire conference room (first floor).
For those who have experienced the loss of a child, attend the Compassionate Friends support group the third Thursday each month from 6:30 to 8 PM in St. Claire Conference Room (first floor).
All sessions are free of charge, annoymous, and held at St. Joseph's Hospital, 2661 Highway I, Chippewa Falls. For more information, call 715-717-7581 or 715-833-2009.
The Partners of St. Joseph's Hospital will help motivate and encourage fitness with their new Partners Walking Club. The Partners Walking Club is free and will meet every Wednesday at 10:00 AM at the Duck Pond gazebo in Irvine Park, weather permitting. A member of the Partners of St. Joseph's Hospital will meet for a walk at the Duck Pond (SPRING/SUMMER) or the Chippewa Valley Family YMCA (LATE FALL/WINTER).
"The reason we decided to start a Walking Club was not only to encourage fitness, but also to promote connections," says Diane Fish, coordinator of the Partners Walking Club. "We know being active helps promote good mental health and it's easier to do when you have someone else to join you."
The program is part of Chippewa Health Improvement Partnership's Compassionate City initiative. For more information, contact St. Joseph's Hospital's Volunteer Services, 715-717-7439. For more information about CHIP's Compassionate City, visit www.chippewahealth.org.
